J. Marie Fine Cakes

Tiburon, CA-based J. Marie Fine Cakes manufacturers this new line of ready-to-eat rum cakes.

Varieties include "Lemoncello", "Chocolate Butter Rum", "Caffe Chocolat", and "Vanilla Butter Rum".

The maker claims their products represent a revival of traditional rum cakes. Thye're on a mission to bake moist cakes with consistently rich flavors, using the finest ingredients, and simple stuff like fresh creamery butter, aged vanilla bean, and the smoothest of dark rums.

The cakes are being sold through a broker, Daprano & Company.

Galler L'Oeuf Orange

Belgian-based Galler Chocolatiers S.A. has a new Easter Egg available under the name "L'Oeuf Orange".

The L'Oeuf Orange (Orange Egg) is a chocolate egg covered in orange chocolate.

The maker describes it as, "The mellow sweetness of milk chocolate combined with fresh orange. A layer of lightly sweetened milk chocolate covered with a layer of orange flavored chocolate. The strength of the citrus fruit is in harmony with, and in contrast to, the milk chocolate."

The chocolate egg is presented in an orange presentation box at a retail price of around €33.00, and is also is being shipped to markets in the USA.

American Heritage Chocolates

Mars, Inc. recently introduced a new line of chocolates called "American Heritage Chocolate".

It's described as a historically-inspired line of authentic products celebrating chocolate's important role in the lives of Americans during the Revolutionary era.

The line includes Chocolate Sticks that are said to be inspired by an authentic colonial recipe, made with all natural ingredients and free of preservatives. They're packaged in a 24-count carton containing individually plastic wrapped Chocolate Sticks. They are also available in 1.69 oz. (47.9g) plastic bags and in a 4-count "keepsake" muslin bag.

General Mills is extending its line of Fruit Gushers fruit flavored chews with a new variety called "G Force".

G Force comes in two varieties, "Berry Radical" and "Tropical Rage", and are sold in 5.4 oz. boxes containing 6 pouches.

According to company literature, biting into a Gushers G-Force unleashes an intense burst of flavor that kids will love. Plus, "G-Force has power-spinning stars with the gush you can see!" It's an excellent source of vitamin C and has only 80 calories per pouch.

Herr's Whole Grain Pretzel Sticks

Beer drinkers at taverns everywhere may soon wonder why their basket of free pretzels tastes funny.

That's because Herr Foods Inc. has now introduced pretzel sticks made from whole grain ingredients. Made with 12 grains, flaxseed oil and honey, they're now available in the USA in 10oz bags.

Swiss-based Camille Bloch has four new varieties of chocolate mousse products.

Mousse Chocolat (Milk Chocolate Mousse), Mousse Chocolat Noir (Dark Chocolate Mousse), Mousse Noisette (Hazelnut Mousse) and Mousse Caramel (Caramel Mousse) are presented in 100g tablet bars and are filled with flavored mousse.

The line of LesserEvil brand of kettle corn now includes a new "Peanut Butter & Choco" flavor.

The snack brand from LesserEvil Brand Snack Co. of Tuckahoe, NY, combines choclate-coated popcorn with peanut butter covered popcorn.

The company says this new flavor came about when a man carrying a carton of chocolate-coated popcorn bumped into a woman carrying a carton of peanut-butter coated popcorn. Their popcorns got mixed into each other's cartons, and they liked it so much, they got married, and started making little cartons of the mixed flavor. Or, something like that anyways.

It relies on a blend of taurine and caffeine, and vitamins B2 and B6 to produce its energy boost.

Hershey's Kissables - Take-Along Container

Hershey's Mexico just recently launched Hershey's Kissables to consumers in Mexico, but have presented them in these "take-along containers" that combine a plastic caribiner so that you can hook them to your belt loop, or any other loops you might have.

I don't think these containers are available in the USA, but I may be wrong.

Purple Sausage

Yup, real purple sausage, at least the casing anyways.

Named, "Purplos", they have managed to bring a lot of attention to Heller Tasty Ltd, or, least in New Zealand anyways.

Todd Heller, Director of the company, says he got the idea after attending a marketing seminar earlier last year that involved a case study on Heinz introducing purple ketchup in the United States, as a way to appeal to children.

The sausage casing (which is an edible part of the sausage naturally), is colored with food coloring.

While the sausage meat is not purple, it does involve a new formulation for Heller Tasty, being a blend of beef and mutton, with added spices and honey. It's already cooked, but recommended served hot.

This now brings three flavors in all to the fashion and accessory company. Mirror Mints are sweetened with Splenda.
