Twisted Grandma Pretzels

Twisted Grandma is a brand of flavored pretzels, offered by a company of the same name, based out of Aurora, CO.

As the story goes, there was a crazy grandma who lived up in Eveleth, MN who always did everything different, starting with her spiked hair, and her tattooed toe. But she had apparently had an awesome recipe for pretzels.

And so became the basis for this line of salted and seasoned flour snack.

The company was nice enough to send me a sample bag of their "Buttery Garlic Goodness", and sure enough they do have a buttery smoothness, and garlicky goodness. Combined with some salty and onion flavors, they don't really need to be dipped into anything. All you need is a cold beer.

Toad-Ally Hanky Panky

Toad-Ally Snax is offering up a new line of popcorn and nut snacks:

360s - Cheddar Covered Pretzels

C.P. Twist recently introduced a new line of cheesy pretzels snacks called 360's. Why 360's? Because they're 360 degrees of cheese-covered pretzel action. (Never mind that 360 degrees only applies when you're talking two dimensions.)

The pretzel treats come in a variety of formats, from the pretzel spheres there to the right to mini loop pretzels called Cheezels.

iDeserv Energy Pretzels

iDeserv Energy Pretzels are a new product from Benzel's Bakery, Inc. of Altoona, PA.

From what I can tell, they don't really contain any of the energy-boosting ingredients you might expect to find in energy drinks. They are, however, fortified with niacin, iron, thiamine, riboflavin, and folic acid.

In addition, the package text claims that they contain, "More protein and fiber than regular pretzels!".

They might make great companions with the recently launched "Vitamin Beer".

Yogurt Covered Pig Snouts!

Are these really yogurt covered pig snouts?

No, they're just yogurt covered pretzels.

But doesn't the color and shape remind you of pig snouts?

I remember seeing a television commercial for something I don't remember what, that had this rough, mean looking cowboy in a old western saloon, reaching into jar of pickled pig snouts, putting it into this mouth, chewing, and swallowing. And when he chewed it, he made this really sour looking face. I'll never forget that commercial.

I feel like buying these pretzels just so that I can tell the neighbors kids that they're pig snouts, and make the same sour face.

"Honey Mustard & Onion" is the fourth flavor in the line of pretzel-based crackers, accompany the existing Original, Garlic and Everything Crisps.

Chocolate Fudge Covered Peanut Butter Pretzel Sandwiches

If the name alone isn't a mouthful, this new munchie from Snyder's of Hanover certainly is.

New "Chocolate Fudge Covered Peanut Butter Pretzel Sandwiches" are pretty much what the name says. Synder's takes creamy peanut butter, sandwiches it between two pretzels, dips it in smooth melted Chocolate Fudge, and then tops it off with a fine chocolate fudge drizzle.

The company has several other varieties of pretzel sandwiches, which have become one of the company's most popular products.

Glico Cratz Pretzels & Almonds

Japanese-food maker Glico has introduced a new snack called, "Cratz - Pretzel & Almond".

It's a mixture of pretzel chunks and whole almonds. It's marketed as an accompaniment with beer.

Varieties include Cheddar Cheese, Pepper Bacon (pictured), and Arabiki Mustard. The mustard variety happens to be flavored with chicken and vegetables.

There's a funny television commercial that shows a young guy and girl eating some Cratz, with their heads turning into an older beer drinker.

Pumpernickel Pretzel Sandwiches

Here's a yummy idea. Take an Oreo cookie, but replace the cookies with pretzels, and replace the cream filling with jalapeno cheese.

That's what Snyder's of Hanover did. New "Pumpernickel Pretzel Sandwiches", seem like it might be best thing that happened to beer in a long time.

They're sold in an 8 oz. (226.8g) foil bag for $3.29. Packaging says it has zero trans fat.
