Awake - The Morning Energy Drink

Awake Energy DrinkApple & Eve, LLC, of Port Washington, NY, recently launched a new energy drink called, "Awake", billed as "the only energy juice specially formulated for morning consumption".

It's basically 100% juice, though I don't know from what fruits, but it has an orange/tangerine flavor. Except, it's spiked with enough caffeine as a tall cup of coffee, and includes an energy enhancer called, "Essentra", dubbed as a patented restorative and rejuvenating extract derived from a natural botanical.

It's like blending coffee and orange juice together, and then sprinkling in some magical herbs.

Awake also comes in a light variety, and is currently only available Northeast, with plans to roll out nationally.

Brawndo The Thirst Mutilator - Energy Drink

Brawndo The Thirst MutilatorThe fictional, but humorous energy drink, "Brawndo the Thirst Mutilator", made famous by the 2006 cult movie, "Idiocracy", is no longer fictional.

The new energy drink, which made the top-10 list of "Movie Products We Wish We Had" by Maxim magazine, will be hitting stores shelves on December 15, 2007.

It's even going to have the same catchphrase from the movie, "It's got what plants crave".

Brawndo is described as a "lemon-lime endurance supplement beverage", in a bright green color reminiscent of anti-freeze. Marketing literature says it has a smooth tangy flavor, and energizes you with 200mg of caffeine, electrolytes, inositol and guarana.

The new beverage will be produced by Redux Beverages, the same company that brought us Cocaine Energy Drink.

Pissed Off Energy Drink

Pissed Off Energy DrinkWhen someone tells you get pissed off, it could be they're talking about an energy drink.

"Pissed Off" is the name of a new energy drink from North Miami, FL-based Pissed Off Energy Drink, Inc.

In these days, with new energy drinks coming out every day, you need some kind of bold marketing angle, and a name like "Pissed Off" is great way to get mentioned on some sorry blogs.

Aside from boasting an all natural formula, Pissed Off is said to decrease fatigue and boost immunity. The maker claims to have thrown in a trio of botanical extracts from Eastern Europe, and we all know that Eastern Europe is THE place for botanical extracts.

In addition, Pissed Off is supposed to increase resistance to chemical, biological, and physical stress and optimizes physical performance, mental performance and well being.

Pissed Off comes in Regular and Diet versions, as well as a small size "Quickie" can.

Mountain Dew Game Fuel Beverage for Halo 3

Mountain Dew has introduced a new Game Fuel Beverage as tie-in with Halo 3. The soda is not just sneaking in as many limited editions do, there is a full, all-media campaign to promote it.

The commercials have been running for about four weeks to tie in with Microsoft's Xbox 360 exclusive title, Halo 3.

Mountain Dew's Limited Edition Game Fuel has 30% more caffeine and is a cherry/citrus blend. It's been spotted at 7-11 stores all over the country as well as major retailers. You'll find it in 20 fl. oz. plastic bottle, 2 liter bottle and 12-count, 12 fl. oz. metal cans through November.

Mountain Dew is a Pepsi Co. product.

Reviews for the new drink on the internet are mixed, but the high awareness of the product guarantees liberal sampling, at least some fervent fans and then the eventual backlash/petitions to bring the drink back.

Sparkling Yunker

Sato Pharmaceutical, Inc is introducing the Japanese liquid supplement energy drink called Sparkling Yunker to the United States.

It comes in a 6.4 ounce bottle and contains "Coenzyme Q10, vitamin B6, and herbal supplement - Turn on the energy!"

The fortifications are aimed to supporting your cardiovascular and immune systems.

Though the package and announcement of the new item makes no mention of it, I'm assuming that it's carbonated because of the word "sparkling" in the name.

The 6.4 fl. oz. cans are sold singly with a suggested retail price of $1.95, and in a 6-pack with a suggested retail price between $10.00 and $12.00.

Yunker is already a well-known brand of well-being liquid supplements, sold in small 30 ml amber bottles with names such as Yunker Kotei Solution and Yunker Super Royal and Yunker Super Grand.

Redux Un-Names its Cocaine Energy Drink

Redux Beverages introduced Cocaine, an energy drink that by their own admission had nothing more notable about it than its name last September. The FDA eventually ruled that they could not continue to sell the drink.

Today they announced they've pulled not the drink, just the name of the drink from the market.

As of now the drink is known on as "Insert Name Here", allowing consumers to give it their own name. (No word if cans come with complementary Sharpie markers.)

Redux made the announcement in a press release that also heralded the new companion website, www.drinknoname.com. Upon checking the site today I found a "parked at GoDaddy" page, but perhaps that's all part of the allure of this drink.

Rehab Recovery Supplement Energy Drink

Rehab Recovery Supplement Energy DrinkHere's a new energy drink that markets itself as a "rehab recovery supplement".

Named, "Rehab Recovery Supplement" it has a label design to look like something medicinal, or perhaps something a physician might prescribe to you. Instead of showing bold bright colors that attract skateboarders and dirt bikers, this displays a more modest and drab design making it appear more "serious".

The can states that it contains "251 mg of electrolytes to hydrate the body and a great Cherry Tangerine taste - a proprietary combination of the most powerful antioxidants found in nature: CoQ10, green tea, catechins - 157 mg of ginseng & caffeine - 135 percent RDA of vitamin B complex and vitamin C."

Interesting that they use Cherry and Tangerine as a flavor because a lot of medicinal products use the same flavor (cough syrups, baby aspirin, throat lozenges).

Available in the USA, it is manufactured for Rehab Beverage, LLC of Englewood Cliffs, NJ. It has a suggested retail price of $1.99.

Note: This information comes from one of our shopping sources, but I can't seem to find this company or product on the Internet.

Anheuser-Busch Launches 180 Blue With Acai

180 BlueAnheuser-Busch announced today the launch of their newest energy drink, "180 Blue".

Flavored with the Acai berry (pronouned ah-sigh-ee), the company is targeting energy drinkers "open to discovery" as their press release describes. AB says they're the first major beverage maker to offer an energy drink based on this berry.

The Acai berry itself is a small, dark, purple fruit from the palmberry tree. It usually grows in the Amazon jungle in Brazil, is rich in B vitamins, minerals (particularly iron), fiber, proteins, omega-3 fatty acids and anthocyanin.

Andy Goeler, vice president of Import, Craft and Alliance with Anheuser-Busch says...

"With 180 Blue we didn't set out to create just another energy drink. We set out to give energy drinkers something unique, something unexpected and something they've never had before. We've taken today's energy drink a step further with 180 Blue by creating something that has the best of both worlds -- a great-tasting energy drink with a boost."

I guess AB can finally rest on its laurels that they now have THE ONLY energy drink that tastes good.

Like many other energy drinks, 180 Blue relies on a familiar combination of guarana and B vitamins to provide its energy kick.

180 Blue is the third product in the 180 family. Other varieties include Orange Citrus Blast (introduced in 2001) and 180 Energy X-3 Lemon-Lime Citrus Blast (introduced in 2004). It will be available at convenience and grocery stores in
addition to bars and clubs nationwide and is available in 8-ounce and 16-ounce cans.
