Who says that wine in a box can't be cool? The new Trove Wine line from Canandaigua, NY-based Canandaigua Wine Co. is trying to dispell that myth with it's Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon in 3 liter boxes.
Trove will sell for around $22.99 and should stand out on the shelf with its brightly colored graphics on all four sides of the box.
I don't know how it tastes, but it definitely looks cooler than other "wine in a box".

Just tried the Pinot Grigio and it is awesome. Much better than any box wine I've ever had, and it does look great too! Can't wait to try the others.
I just popped the spigot on the Trove Cabernet Sauvignon. Definitely a cut above the 5-liter boxes like Almaden, though not as aromatic as the Wine Block Cab. Not bad, though.
The Pinot Grigio is honestly fantastic and you can not beat the convenience of this product. I will absolutely buy it again. Don't knock it until you try it.
We just tried the Pinot Grigot and it was fabulous! We normally don't buy "boxed" wines, but this was extra from a party. We will definitely buy again!
The Chard is really quite good. Very good actually. I like that it travels well too.
I am a bit of a Cabernet snob but I just tried this and I was amazed at how "decent" this Cab is. It would be a great everyday or party wine. Well done Trove!

The cab is really quite tasty. Not as good as Australia's Banrock Station or Hardy's, but closer than I'd have believed for the price (about $5 the box cheaper than the Aussie wines). This is definitely a serviceable wine for everyday drinking and for cooking. I will try the other varieties soon to see if they match up.
