Haagen-Dazs has a new limited edition flavor out called, "Caramelized Pear & Toasted Pecan".It's described as pear-flavored ice cream base, with chunks of caramelized pears and pieces of toasted pecans.
The new flavor was the result of Haagen-Dazs' 2007 Flavor Search, naming Leslie Zoerb as having submitted the idea.
The company says the new flavor is available in stores today.

This is the absolute BEST ice cream of all time!!! The pear "chunks" actually seem like miniture pears, and they are PERFECTLY sweetened! There must also be some brown sugar syrup thing going on, because the description does not do the ice cream justice...there seems like a whole lot more in that little pint for all that amazing flavor!

It's so good but the ice cream tastes like bananas. So goooood.
The carmelized pear and toasted pecans suck. It just sits there exactly as described, no special nothing to it. Sorry to say. I actually like the sticky toffee pudding better.

I, too, have tried and love the caramelized pear. I bought it at Wegmans and haven't been able to find it since. Whats up?? This should be in all stores.
Love it. I tried it for the first time this morning, wow! I don't like things that are overly sweet, this is creamy and each time you get a bite of pear, it is as though it cleanses your palate. Then, the nuts add a nice little nutty nut crunch. Yum O!
Really good flavor! I was a bit hesitant about buying it because it was pears but to my surprise the pears are the best part of the ice-cream. They need to add more pear chunks and have a lot less pecans.
It's MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE as well, i hope they keep it around!!!
They should change to flavor to bananas foster and it would be more accurate. Good if you were expecting banana's foster; shocking if expecting pears.
This is my new favorite ice cream! The pear flavor is perfect. It could use more pear bits, and the pecans could be smaller, but other than that it's perfect.

This ice cream is the best!!! Usually I would go with Ben & Jerry's, but this ice cream rocks. I actually like the size of the pecans, it adds a nice texture alongside the pieces of pear. Its great as is, but something that would make it better is if they added ribbons of caramel so the consumer would know whats in it. Really great ice cream nonetheless!!!!
I know that it has been said - but this ice cream is so good. It is almost better than sex.
