I agree! I've tried each of them - dark is still my favorite! I also found the little squares in great box (I think there were around 48 pcs..) at Sam's Club - I would get those as well for a party or gift...
it's so gross! don't try the citrus spice!!!!
The citrus spice is definitely spicy. Anyone know what the spice is? It reminds me of cinnamon "red-hots", followed by a bit of jalapeno.
I hate the citrus spice one! I dont know why they would ruin a fabulous chocolate bar with that gun powder!! I even wrote to the company about it. Yuck.
I love the spicy one!
It's ginger.... I think....
I love dove chocolate, but the organic dark chocolate citrus spice is awful. The spice is hot like pepper.
Citrus spice has cinnamon and capsaicin it seems to me and reminds me of the chocolates made in the city of Oaxaca, Mexico they grind their cocoa beans plus a variety of ingredients in an old fashioned "molino" right before your eyes! the aroma is truly unforgettable the whole town smells of choco/cinnamon...
me and my friend are doing a science fair experimient on the different between dove oranic dark choclate and dove regular dark. if you have any helpful information please post it.
thanks!
whats kewl about the citrus spice is the kick~one or two squares gives me my chocolate fix and the flavonoid bennies, but i dont need to eat the whole bar all at once. the ginger is beneficial...in small doses this chocolate is: sweet and hot, kinda like unohoo.
I LOVE hot food. The hotter the better. But the spice is overpowering in the citrus spice. It's the only thing I taste. And I'll bet money it's ginger, which I like. That's not a pepper heat. It's spice. And where is the citrus flavor? It must be hiding behind the spice, scared ot come out...
Wow! I stumbled across some of the citrus spice variety in my professor's office and all I can say is WOW! Such a great, flavorful piece of chocolate. But it definately has a taste that wouldn't be appreciated by all. I also believe that the spice is ginger, as it kind of reminds me of a chocolate you'd get at an Indian or Thai resturant. Anyone know where to find them?!?!?
Someone gave our Library several cases of the citrus spice which no one can tolerate the spice. We even gave the local detention center a case to pass out. Serves them right! I don't taste ginger. I taste pepper which ruins the great Dove chocolate. I do want to know why the spice was not listed on the label for allergy purposes and curiosity.Anyone want some?
I was riding the bus one day and stumbled upon a piece of the Citrus Spice chocolate. I have to say that it was the worst piece of any type of food that I've had in my entire life. To play a prank on a friend, I gave her a piece and told her it was a Hershey Bar. She instantly threw up on contact. I do not recommend it at all :(
I was really craving some chocolate one day and got a bar of the Citrus Spice at a discount store. When I got in my car, I absent-mindedly broke off a chunk and put it in my mouth. I was sure I was going to die. If not from the taste, then from wrecking trying to find a way to get it OUT OF MY MOUTH! I gave some to co-workers (telling them in advance how putrid it was) and they were totally grossed out by a piece as small as a sunflower seed. I called the company and they were good enough to send me some coupons for free bars of other Dove chocolate. I am floored by the comments of the people that like that stuff! There is absolutly NO accounting for taste...
