Wendy's New Vanilla Frosty

Wendy's Vanilla FrostyWendy's International announced today that it will begin offering nationwide availability of its new Vanilla Frosty in its Wendy's fast food restaurants.

Up until now, the world's third largest hamburger chain offered its popular Frosty in only one flavor, chocolate.

Wendy's has been testing the Vanilla Frosty at locations in Pittsburgh, Erie, San Antonio, Portland, and Youngstown, where customer response and sales have been positive.

The company's founder, Dave Thomas, came up with the idea for the Frosty dairy dessert. He loved thick milkshakes growing up and wanted a dessert on the menu that was so thick you had to eat it with a spoon. The Frosty is a cross between a milkshake and soft-serve ice cream.

Nationwide availability starts this August.

  3. This is just plain wrong. The Frosty is a chocolate/vanilla blend. It's not one or the other. It's a FROSTY. That's all. We don't need multiple flavors. What's next...a chai latte flavored Frosty? Thatnks for ruining what was a simple, straightforward treat. This is blasphemey. "Vanilla" Frosty? FEH!

  5. Ugh. Vanilla is so boring. I was hoping for something with fruit in it, like raspberry, strawberry or banana.

  6. Not cool. Might as well get a strawberry flavor and rename it to a shake ala McD's. I'm sure the vanilla flavor frosty is great, but comon, what happened to unique identity?

  7. It's just a costsavings measure. This way they don't need the chocolate flavoring.

  8. This sounds delicious to me! I've always wanted a Vanilla Frosty. The haters are simply too unintelligent to handle more than one choice.

Nowhere do they say they're phasing out the chocolate. It sounds more like an additional flavor than a replacement.

  15. All you retards that are dissing the new flavor "vanilla" Fucking get a life! you all say "Frosty" is the flavor and that Wendy's is no unique for offering fruit...well, for one many are allergic to fruit and you are being selfish as to say a fruit should be offered. Second, chocolate is second nature to vanilla. They are perfect opposits. You cannot have one without the other. When I was growing up and I first heard of Wendy's and I heared their only dessert was chocolate, I though that was a big turn off. I never preferred Wendy's when I knew they only served chocolate dessert. This is so exclusive and wrong. If you want to be a top burger/fast food place you need to cater to more needs than just the choco fanatics. Some, many, enjoy a sugary treat that is beyond simply chocolate and an be enjoyed in a vanilla sort of way...Get a life all you haters!

  16. Finally! Sometimes I'd go to BK just because they had a vanilla shake (and a good one too). Now all they have to do is add another slice of cheese on their double!

  21. The vanilla is 100x better than the chocolate. No one should be complaining about this. If you don't like the vanilla idea then shut the hell up and order chocolate. It's not very hard, unless you can't pronounce chocolate then your screwed. Get some education and learn to say cho-co-late instead of just fros-ty.

  23. The Vanilla Frosty is Wonderful. Nice rich vanilla flavor. You can taste the vanilla bean right in the treat. I have had several this summer and have enjoyed every one of them. Best new item since Where's the Beef? Great Job!

  26. I think I’m staying with the old skool Frosty. Vanilla is ok. Maybe it’s good but not good. The sugar is there, but without the choco, the Frosty is “like Harry Melvin without Bluenotes: you’ll never go platinum.”

I’m not the kind of dude that rocks a vanilla shake anyway. Now, Dairy Queen’s brownie batter Blizzard is the shit. You feel like you tacked on 30 pounds afterwards, but, damn, you feel like a rockstar. An over the hill, about to be on “Celebrity Fit Club” rockstar.

Prognosis: not good. The vanilla Frosty will die an early death.

    Deal with it.

  32. I used to just ask for a frosty, now I have to specify "chocolate" (when it's not really chocolate, rather a mixture of chocolate and vanilla). It's just plain wrong..

What? Is chocolate too intense of a flavor for some people?

Maybe they should name the vanilla one "Blandy" or something like that. It is just plain jane vanilla after all.
